A high-performance weed barrier solution made from strong, tear-resistant and durable non-woven materials, this DuPont™ Plantex® Platinum is resistant to even the most aggressive weeds. Perfect for even the most invasive weeds, including Japanese knotweed, couch grass, reed, giant reed, giant hogweed, marestail, horsetail, bamboo and Himalayan balsam, Plantex® Platinum will deliver the long-lasting and reliable resistance you require.

As well as creating an effective barrier against invasive plants, Plantex® Platinum also manages to maintain permeability to air and water. This feature helps prevent issues related to trapped water, which can easily occur with closed impermeable membranes. Any trapped moisture can naturally evaporate through the Plantex® Platinum, thereby preventing condensation under the fabric, which can lead to mould and soil degradation. Not only this, the soil temperature will remain unaffected, resulting in less greenhouse effect.

Plantex® Platinum has a very strong tear resistance and is highly resistant to damage, which is particularly important during installation. Due to the fibre structure and manufacturing method even cuts that are introduced intentionally will not propagate to a larger tear. At 5m wide, this weed barrier roll is ideal for larger projects, as it will require fewer joints. The material can be easily installed by rolling it out and covering the surface and, in case jointing is necessary, it can be achieved simply by taping or welding.

After several years of testing by DuPont's Research and Development team in natural environments, there has been no observation of fabric perforation or regrowth. This means, provided it is installed correctly, once installed in an area contaminated by invasive plants and weeds, Dupont's Plantex® Platinum Invasive Weed Barrier will not require any maintenance.

Please note:

Proper and effective use of DuPont™ Plantex® Platinum nonwoven fabric requires that the installation recommendations are followed.
The weed barrier may be installed horizontally either on flat land or on sloped embankments, in which case additional considerations may be required.
Please ask for a copy of the installation guide before the commencement of any works.
Avoid Plantex® Platinum coming into contact with any herbicides or pesticides.
