Available in convenient 300ml cartridges, this non-corrosive sealant is also quicker, easier and cleaner to use than mortar.
For storage, ensure that this Lead Mate Sealant is kept in its original unopened container at a temperature between 15°C and 30°C. With a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture, you can be confident that it will stay fresh and ready to use when you need it.
To ensure optimal performance, it is important to follow the recommended joint design. The joint should have a minimum width of 6mm, and for maximum movement accommodation, the depth should be no less than 5mm. Movement capacity will be impaired if the width is smaller than the depth. For joints up to 10mm wide, the depth should be 5mm, while joints wider than 10mm should be half the width in depth, up to 20mm, with a minimum depth of 10mm for even wider joints.
It is essential to note that the maximum joint width without slumping is 40mm. If you're flashing into concrete walls with a wider joint, it is crucial to fix the lead with stainless steel screws and plugs before applying the sealant.
