Flexseal Puddle Flanges serve the purpose of sealing the area around pipes that pass through concrete structures like tanks, manhole chambers, shafts, floor slabs and basements. Manufactured from sturdy EPDM, these reliable flanges are typically installed during the construction phase.
When pipes pass through concrete, they do not bond to the concrete, creating a potential route for water to flow along the external surface of the pipe. However, Flexseal Puddle Flanges act as a barrier, preventing water penetration in such situations. The flange is clamped onto the pipe, obstructing this direct water route. During the pouring process, the seal body is compressed, and if the concrete shrinks during curing, the rubber in the flange relaxes and maintains a seal, preventing any water flow along this path.
