With a durable structure, it seamlessly joins into the dry-jointed pipework system, where recyclable cast iron structures withstand accidental external damage and vandalism.
System assembly is effortless with ductile and stainless steel twin screw couplings and socketless fixing between pipes and fittings, which create secure connections without specialised installation equipment. The complete soil and waste pipework system provides 3m long pipes and diameters ranging from 50mm to 400mm, suiting a range of installations from pipework connections to stack to underground sewer connections. The system is also ideal for rainwater installations when paired with Harmer Roof Outlets.
Couplings consist of stainless steel and ductile cast iron structures. Manufactured using grey iron, pipes and fittings are made to meet DIN 1691 standards (surpassing BS 1452 Grade 150 ISO 185 Grade 15) with exteriors coated in primer (with a minimum thickness of 40 µm) and interiors lined with epoxy coating (with a minimum thickness of 120 µm). Fittings are coated with epoxy (minimum thickness of 60 µm), both internally and externally, and these coatings reduce maintenance needs during use for a low-effort, easily maintained option.
At the leading edge of cast iron technology, Harmer SML includes Kitemark and BBA certification, full compliance with BS EN 877 standards, CE Mark conformity. The system is non-combustible, making fire protection collars redundant, and exhibits high tensile strength.
