For proper placement, it is recommended to position the Ensign Domestic Sewage Treatment Plant at a minimum distance of seven meters from a dwelling or ten meters from a stream. This tank is not suitable for domestic use due to the capacity. The minimum size Marsh tank that meets all domestic regulations is the 6 person tank.

How many litres does this tank hold?

Sewage treatment plants dont hold, they discharge, so provided you dont exceed the population stated then it will just keep discharging the water to the soakaway.

is the 4 person ensign treatment plant suitable for a 3 bedroom cottage with 2 people?

Tanks are measured on capacity so if a family moved into this house you would need to size for maximum occupancy, in this case a 6 person tank would be suitable.
