Description

Good quality timber garden buildings begin with good quality timber. This Shire summerhouse has wall panels manufactured from high-grade, slow-grown FSC Certified timber. It has also been dip treated with a base coat, allowing you to add a top coat as soon as possible after assembly. Alternatively, the roof has been constructed using OSB board. As a bonus, as part of the Shire summerhouses range, this summerhouse features strong 34mm square framing. It is also provided with a fixing kit, roof felt and installation instructions for an easier fitting process.

Base note:
Before assembling your building, the base must be flat, level and square to a sufficient size, whether this is a concrete or paving slab base or on bearers. Grass, soil or gravel are not sufficient as they will move with the weight of a building. This ensures the building is level and stable, preventing excess strain on the panels that could lead to twisting and long-term damage. A level building also means the panels will fit squarely together, preventing gaps and ensuring doors close correctly.
Timber note:
Pine is the most commonly used timber for garden buildings. Shire buildings are constructed using high-quality spruce under strict FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) guidance. Spruce is more durable than pine, providing a higher-quality finish. The timber is slow grown which means a tighter grain, less sap and far fewer knots and warping occurring. In some cases, slight splits or 'shakes' may be seen in the timber. These are normal and will not affect the garden building's performance.
