The box features a hinged lid for easy opening, and it has slatted sides. The wall panels consist of high quality FSC Certified timber, and the sawn pressure treatment extends life without the need for constant maintenance. However, if you wish to add a decorative touch, you can stain or paint the box.

The imperial measurements are rounded. Please use the metric sizes for precision. Make allowances for the roof overhang and for access around the outside when constructing and treating. Prior to assembly, a flat, level base of the right size is needed. Grass, soil and gravel are not suitable as movement occurs with the building weight.
Base note:
Bases must be flat, level and square whether this is a concrete or paving slab base or on bearers. Panel strain is then avoided and twisting or long-term damage can be prevented. It also lets panels fit squarely together, minimises gaps and shuts doors correctly.
Timber note:
For quality garden buildings, quality timber is a must. Pine is common for garden buildings, but Shire uses high-quality spruce under strong FSC guidance (Forestry Stewardship Council). Durability and finish are improved. Slow grown timber leads to tighter grain, less sap and warping, and fewer knots. Splits or 'shakes' can occur but do not fault performance.
