The most practical way to achieve an optimum finish on level timber roof decking, terrace areas and balconies is to use Wallbarn TD adjustable pedestals. Using these pedestals, building wooden decking becomes easier, faster and far more reliable. Suspended system fixing means the pedestal gets held down by the joist, then deck boards can be built to the joists. Rotation of the stem makes changing the frame height extremely simple, giving you completely flat surfaces every time.
Waterproofing cannot be guaranteed if timbers are allowed immediate contact with subdecking, so be sure to avoid this. Baseplates allow the weight be well distributed for safety and longevity. This product helps your decking last by keeping timber out of water, while also improving drainage. The joists can be easily positioned at the top of the pedestal using peg fittings placed 4-6cm apart. Available in heights of 380mm down to 25mm, these polypropylene products will carry 1000kg and won’t be affected by cold temperatures, as CATAS testing between +20°C and - 40°C has proven. Where a roof has various complex changes in falls, slightly varying levels, or continuous falls over a large area, this product offers up the perfect building tool. It's recommended that spaces between pedestals should be 600mm or less.
