Find out moreThis standard rainwater head acts as a funnel, collecting and channelling rainwater into the downpipes and drains below. Made from robust, reliable and strong cast iron, this hopper has been tried and tested, withstanding many difficulties such as on-site handling, vandalism and mechanical de-blocking. Flame resistant and non-combustible, this hopper head does not require fire collars or extra lagging etc.
Surviving the long life of a building, this hopper head is fully sustainable, made from infinitely recyclable cast iron and unlike plastic will not end up in a landfill. This hopper head is ideal for restoration, conservation, refurbishment and heritage work as well as unique, bespoke and new designs on public, domestic, commercial or industrial buildings. Recommended annual inspections once installed this hopper head has low maintenance needs with remedial action is not usually required. With good noise dampening properties, this hopper head does not rattle in high winds with very little expansion and contraction in extreme temperatures meaning no clicking or creaking.
Available in a range of sizes and downpipe diameters to match your downpipes, this hopper head can be painted black or primed. Painted internally and externally, the primed hopper head is coated in a dark grey primer providing a surface for subsequent coats of paint to effortlessly adhere to. The primed layer provides short-term protection to the surface and creates a barrier to corrosion until it can be overcoated with Polyurethane, Acrylic or Epoxy paint. The painted black hopper head provides an excellent paint finish that is vital to longevity and performance and protects the underlying substrate by providing a barrier between the Cast Iron and corroding elements.
